Does psychic affect ghost?

Night Shadow deals calculated damage and is not affected by type modifiers. So, it's effective against normal and psychic Pokémon (and it's probably the reason most people find it hard to believe that regular ghost attacks can't affect normal or psychic Pokémon), just as seismic launch can affect As at the time, the only types of Ghost also were part Venom, and Psychic's only other weakness, Bug, was incredibly weak in itself, the Psychic type was incredibly overpowered. IIRC, several NPCs in the game claim that Ghost is super effective against Psychic, but apparently, programmers accidentally set Psychic to be immune to Ghost. Psychics are supposed to be weak against ghost attacks, but wrongly, psychics were immune to them.

They are also completely ineffective against Psychic and Normal Pokémon, even though they did a series of three-part episodes in the cartoon about how ghosts are the best way to beat psychics. Dark was immune to Psychic and unlike Steel, dark moves are also super effective against Psychic. Psychic-type weakness in Pokémon GO The best opposites to this hard-to-beat Pokémon (and other psychic types) are Mega Gengar, Shadow Metagross, Metagross (and other types of rock), Mega Beedrill (paralysis), Shadow Mewtwo and Dialga, which have a good defense against psychic moves like Psyshock. Since all ghosts are half-poisonous and can also learn powerful psychic attacks (which are strong against poison types), Lick is almost as useless as an attack.

Since many Weed Pokémon were also Poison type, it wasn't a good idea to use Weed against Psychics either. In the first generation, the movements of ghosts have no effect on psychic Pokémon, however, it was later changed to be super-effective. Starting with Generation 6, there are 75 official Psychic-type Pokémon, making it the fifth most common type, and also slipping it into a category of rare types.
